Head’s up! Another Habitat for Humanity: Veteran’s Build volunteer opportunity is in the works!
Ieesha Flowers and her husband Bryan are proud parents to their two year old daughter, Katelyn and are now part of the Habitat family. Ieesha joined the Army while a senior in High School, entering the delayed entry program and learning the basics while finishing school. She trained to be in the Military Police and was first stating in Fort Drum, NY. She later served in Afghanistan, where she was injured just nine months into her deployment. The sliding door hatch on her MRAP broke, damaging her back and collar bone and causing a concussion. She served two years in the Army before her medical discharge.
Ieesha and her husband are looking forward to providing a safe and stable home for their daughter, and that’s where Habitat for Humanity will step in.
The plans are still in process and there are no set dates yet, but once things finalized Habitat for Humanity will need the help of local volunteers to help make Ieesha and Bryan’s dream home possible. If you are interested in volunteering, stay tuned for another blog in the near future! We will keep you posted as more detailed get released.
